| Recent Projects |
| 2008 |
China Art Criticism Network: CACN (ongoing)
Founding member of small research group launched in 2008 with
symposia, meetings and live events in China and Europe with
theorist Malcolm Ferris and artist Stephan Hausmeister. |
| |
|
| 2008 |
Alte Nationalgalerie, Berlin (ongoing)
Series of photographic works presented through exhibitions
(Beijing 2008, berlin 2009), short-run artist's book projects
(first publication September 2008) and interventions in Berlin
museums (2009). Alte Nationalgalerie is about cultural space
and how it disseminates and validates contemporary culture.
The photographs are of paper constructions that cast shadows
and partly obscure images of gallery rooms at the Alte Nationalgalerie,
Berlin. Paintings on show are digitally exchanged for virtual
mirrors that mimic reflections of non-existant windows. Mounted
behind Plexiglass, the works themselves become mirrors drawing
the viewer in to grapple with a series of perceived and represented
realities. |

All the Things Between (ongoing series of international
group painting and photographic shows)
Curator of international group photographic exhibition
at Inter Art Center Gallery, Factory 798 District, Beijing.

|
| 2008 |
Artbetween.org (ongoing)
Cofounder/director of organisation and a network based in
the UK, which focuses on an exchange of ideas, projects and
exhibitions between Europe, the USA and China. Focus is on
collaborative projects and new ideas about how and where art
is produced and presented and exchanging ideas with artists
across cultural and geographical boundaries. Founded in 2004,
artbetween.org puts cultural exchange into practice by organising
events involving artists, curators and writers in China, Europe
and the UK. Projects are often collaborative and open to other
artists through calls for submission. |
